Conquer
350 new users per month for a local sports app in NYC
Conquer is an app dedicated to pickleball enthusiasts, allowing them to find matches and courts nearby. Although the product had modest organic traction, the team hadn’t managed to build a scalable user acquisition strategy. On top of that, the high cost of targeting NYC audiences was a major obstacle.
Objectives:
Grow app installs at a cost under $10/user
Develop a coherent strategy across Meta and Google
Validate messaging and app value for the local sports audience
Our Approach
Meta Ads
- Used hyper-local targeting, exclusively for the NYC area
- Collaborated with local creators for authentic video content focused on the real playing experience
- Tested multiple value propositions: socializing, health, community sport
- Optimized campaigns for installs and post-install engagement
Google Ads
- Launched a Search campaign on high-intent keywords (e.g., “pickleball courts NYC”)
- Created App Install and Performance Max campaigns to attract active users
- Built a retargeting campaign with special offers for interested users
Results
Through complementary strategies on Meta and Google:
350+ new users/month brought in exclusively from ads
Cost per install under $9, beating the $10 target
Demand for courts grew so much it became the new bottleneck — not user acquisition
Launching a local app and unsure how to attract relevant users? We build strategies that fill your app — not just your impressions dashboard.
